Original vs. Compatible vs Remanufactured

Original Cartridges

Original cartridges are manufactured by your printer manufacturer, these are by far the most expensive cartridges.

Compatible Cartridges

The most sold ink cartridges and toners are compaibles. They offer the best value for money and are extremely reliable due to the fully automated assembly lines. The defective rate on our ASTA branded toners is less than 0.5%.

Remanufactured Cartridges

A remanufactured cartridge is an original ink or toner cartridges that has been recycled. Worn parts are replaced and then they are refilled. These are generally not as reliable as compatible products as recycling is manual process.

What should I use?

If available, we always recommend compatible products due to the cost saving and the extremely low failure rates.

Some ink cartridges are not available in compatible forms – here your only options are remanufacured or original. You can always refill your ink cartridges. There are many good videos on Youtube that expain the refilling process. You can buy the refill ink here.

Will compatible or remanufacured ink cartridges or toner damage my printer?

We have not had any come-backs with regards to damaged printers from customers that have used our products.

We believe in the quality of our products and we have many very happy customers all over the country that buy from us again and again.

Always avoid poor quality comaptible toners or ink cartridges, there are many very poor quality compatible products on the market, often leaking – which can definitely damage a printer, or printing very lightly, which no one likes.
